Management tracks: hercules ceo steps down amid college admissions scandal


Hercules Capital said Manuel Henriquez stepped down as chairman and CEO. Henriquez and his wife were charged Tuesday as part of a wide-ranging college admissions cheating scheme. The firm’s board elected Robert Badavas, lead independent director at Hercules, as interim chairman, and Chief Investment Officer Scott Bluestein as interim CEO. Henriquez will remain on the board and serve as an adviser to the company.

Biologics company Orion Biotechnology Canada Ltd. (Ottawa, Ontario) hired Bozena Korczak as chief translational research officer and Oliver Hartley as VP drug discovery. The company also said CSO Ian McGowan will become CMO. Korczak was VP drug development at Karunix Inc., which she co-founded. Hartley is an assistant professor at the University of Geneva.
